All groups are ongoing and coed.

In all groups involving children, adolescents, tweens, teens and young adults each prospective member will be evaluated and placed in a developmentally age-appropriate therapy group. Please note that when a group is for "young adults", the age range is 18-26, and “adults” it’s 27 and up.

Young Adult/College Age Group
For Young Adults (Ages 18-26)
This group will help members identify, express and cope with complex emotions that go along with being a young adult. Issues that arise during this developmental stage include socialization with peers and familial relationships, intimate relationships, academics (may be pertinent to some not all), conflict between independence and dependence, career and work issues, anxiety, depression, social isolation, etc. The group will assist them to learn to cope with age-related challenges and develop healthier coping skills, more positive self-talk and greater confidence and self-esteem.

Separation & Divorce Group
For For Adults & Young Adults
This group offers a venue for men and women in this category to talk over issues such as how to deal your ex, handling parenting concerns (if pertinent), loneliness, stress, depression, mourning the loss of the relationship and/or the status of being a married person, rebuilding self-esteem, disappointment, dealing with family & friends, and eventually, the possibility of dating again and becoming intimate with another partner.

Bereavement Group
For Young Adults & Adults
This group is designed to sustain men and women who are experiencing the death of a parent, spouse/partner, sibling or child. The group offers interpersonal/peer support, psychological insight and effective coping strategies to help members deal with natural and complicated mourning. In addition, possible depression, loneliness, and relationships with family and friends will be addressed as well as variations in the stages of mourning will be explored.

Managing Anxiety Group
For Young Adults & Adults
Men and women often experience a wide spectrum of anxious feelings, from general anxiety to the more extreme (including those with OCD, phobias, etc.) ones. Group members will learn to better manage their anxiety using specific cognitive-behavioral modification techniques to foster a less anxious, better quality of life.

Health & Wellness Group
For Young Adults & Adults
This group will help members to improve their eating habits and overall fitness and wellness regimen. They will learn to effectively work on their respective challenge with their eating habits (i.e., eating too fast, too much, the wrong things) and become more comfortable with themselves as they adjust their lifestyle. Also, they will obtain fundamental skills and a psychoeducation on how to proactively accomplish their overall health and fitness goals.

Anxiety in Social Situations Group
For Young Adults & Adults
Social phobia/anxiety affects approximately 15 million American adults. This group is designed to assist individuals who become anxious and self-conscious in everyday social situations. They may feel observed, (critically)judged, and/or embarrassed which could interfere with their work, school, participation in social events, and everyday activities. With the assistance of cognitive-behavioral treatment, group members will learn to decrease their social anxiety. Members will learn to effectively implement practical social skills in their interpersonal relationships which will help to foster more fulfilling social and professional relationships.

Choosing to Stay in a Difficult Relationship
For Adults
This group is for men and women that choose to stay in a non-abusive relationship (i.e., partnership, marriage) even though it might be challenging. People often try hard not to split up, perhaps for the sake of the children, or for family, emotional, religious, or financial reasons. The workshop will focus on reducing the stress in such situations and developing more satisfying ways to cope and even co-exist.

For Adults
Are you asking yourself, "Where do I go from here?" Whether your job is disappointing, has been downsized, you just can't decide whether to make a career change, or you don't know what to expect out of work, this group will help you identify your skills and teach you how to take that next step toward a more satisfying career.

Life After Retirement/Empty Nest
For Adults
What is it like in your house now that you have retired or the kids have left the house? It certainly is different, and sometimes it's challenging to adjust to the change. In this group you'll find out ways to develop your own special interests and to adapt to the changes so that your life is a better "fit." You may even begin to wonder how you'll ever find the time to accomplish everything you want to do.

Advanced Recovery:
Sober & Clean For a Year or Longer
For Adults
When you've been "clean" a year or more, sometimes recovery can become even harder. People have changed expectations of you -- and so do you of yourself. "Beginners" in recovery are in a more acute phase -- and tend to receive a lot more attention. Now, after a year or more of being clean or sober, you may feel you need a different type of support, that you don’t necessarily fit in with other people in recovery or with others who never used. This group will assist with adaptation to changes in your environment and your present relationships.

If you are one of those "I was going to do it but . . . , " people, do NOT put off participating in this group. If you have a hard time motivating yourself, beginning new and necessary projects, following-trough -- or if you wait until the absolute last moment to take care of what needs doing, here's a helpful group for you.

For Adults
Many couples wish to enhance their existing relationships and to learn strategies to effectively negotiate, improve communication, deepen intimacy, and accomplish overall relationship goals. This group is designed to help this happen.

Managing Depression Group
For Adults
This group is designed to help men and women who may experience any of a wide spectrum of depressed feelings, from the general to the more extreme (mood disorders, major depression, bipolar, etc.). Group members will learn to better manage their depression through specific cognitive-behavioral modification techniques.

Being Single Group
For Adults
The state of "singleness" can be challenging these days -- with advanced technology and an absence of viable settings to meet the ideal person, what are we to do? This group is designed for single men & women, ages 25-45. Are you tired of being set up? Of meeting the wrong person? The same type of person? Of feeling bored, lonely, or frustrated? The group will center on personal growth, developing intimacy, and connecting with partners to develop meaningful self-fulfilling relationships.

Anger Management Group
For Adults
Anger is a normal human emotion which can range in intensity from mild irritation to intense rage. Anger can be expressed destructively and lead to health problems, difficulties at work, interpersonal relationship issues, and ones overall quality of life. This group will help group members to identify and gain insight into their sources of anger -- their triggers (“what pushes their buttons”), identify the maladaptive ways they react to their anger, what their individual needs are that are getting acted out and not necessarily expressed, and learn effective methods to deal with their anger in more socially appropriate ways to lead to an improved quality of life and more satisfying interpersonal relationships.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Group
For Adults
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder affects over two million American adults. In a group setting, individuals who have persistent upsetting thoughts and those who participate in various rituals will be helped to decrease their anxiety and continued participation in these rituals. Group members will be assisted with the use of cognitive-behavioral treatment and exposure-based therapy.

Panic Attack Disorder Group
For Adults
Panic Disorder affects approximately six million American adults. In a group setting and with the use of cognitive-behavioral treatment techniques, individuals who experience persistent anxious symptoms manifested by a pounding heart, sweatiness, dizziness, nausea, numbness, and/or fear of losing control will be helped to decrease their anxiety and related symptoms to enhance their quality of life. This group is appropriate for anyone experiencing panic attacks or has been diagnosed with panic disorder.

Support for Caregivers
For Adults
In today's world and as the "baby boomers" age, it is more likely than not that more and more of us will be cast in the role of caregiver to a loved one. This is referred to as the “sandwich generation.” This group is designed to offer support, respite and resources to those who are caring for a spouse, sibling or an elderly or sick person with an illness and/or have physical/cognitive limitations.

Groups for Parents Who Have Children
with a Disability or Chronic Illness
For Adults
Parents who have children with a disability or chronic illness often feel isolated and have difficulty accessing appropriate community resources and assistance. They are often confronted with difficult choices, have exposure to a variety of professionals and specialists, and experience an array of emotions (e.g., confusion, powerlessness, disappointment, and/or guilt). Group members will obtain practical information and ongoing social/emotional support.

Women ages 27 and up will meet to discuss general life stressors and relationship issues. Peer support and feedback will assist members to gain insight into their feelings, behaviors, patterns/themes in their lives and work on goals to enhance their relationships and quality of life.
